Basketball

Basketball in Muckross has had its strongest year yet in the 2013-14 Season with over 100 girls playing the sport,  70 of whom are in 1st and 2nd year. The girls are competing and doing well in both the Dublin League and South Dublin League with both A and B teams in 1st and 2nd  year playing.

The Under 16 girls narrowly lost out on a final spot in the South Dublin League while the Senior girls managed to win the Dublin league as well as winning their all Ireland tournament putting them into the all Ireland semi-final.Following in the older girls success both the first and second years had a run of six early victories in the Dublin League and have just started the south Dublin league by beating Loreto Beuford this week.

Development and ensuring each player reach's their full potential while helping their team reach theirs has been identified as the key to the success of the basketball programme in the school.

The school also has links with clubs in the area including Meteors, Raiders and Templeogue basketball clubs.
