Swimming

Muckross has had very strong swimming squads over the last number of years, competing at Junior (u14), Intermediate (u16) and Senior levels.

We participate in the Leinster and Irish Schools Championships, regularly winning medals in individual and relay events. In 2009, two of our swimmers won Leinster Senior individual titles, and the Muckross Senior team won the Leinster Medley relay event. Team members were Niamh Duggan, Aoife Murray, Ciara Murray and Eimeir Walsh.

This team, varying slightly over the years, has won Leinster titles every year for the last six years, at Junior, Intermediate and Senior level. Several years, we also won the Irish Schools relay events. In addition in 2009, Eimeir Walsh was chosen to represent Ireland in the WISE (Wales, Ireland, Scotland, England) Championship in Scotland, after winning a Senior Irish individual gold medal.

We hope to continue this strong tradition for many years to come.
